Rhode Island being the squid capital of the U.S, the vast majority of the squid brought in was cut to be used for calamari. This left much of the squid to go unused and just be thrown away. The company starters decided to utilize the waste and use the whole mollusk. After months of research and with help from the University of Rhode Island food scientist and horticulture experts, an effective squid-based fertilizer has been produced.
